Wassererhof

South Tyrolean Wines – Exquisite Wines from Wassererhof

Our high-quality South Tyrolean wines are produced from the two vineyards Wassererhof and Mumelterhof.

The Wassererhof produces South Tyrolean wines according to the highest standards. Our promise: quality, honesty and enjoyment.

As a family business, we wanted not only to be a grape producer, but to understand all the steps of wine production. We understand wine production as a cycle – a cycle with nature.

Wassererhof

The Wassererhof vineyard is located at an altitude of 460m in the lower Eisack Valley. Here the white wines thrive on very cool, steep terraces facing west. The deep soils on porphyry are sandy, stony, loamy with limestone inclusions from the Schlern massif. Our white grape varieties Sauvignon blanc, Pinot blanc, Pinot gris and Chardonnay grow here.

Mumelterhof

The Mumelterhof vineyard is located in Laitach at an altitude of 350m on the outskirts of Bolzano. South Tyrolean wines from this region are famous for their expressiveness. This is because the hot valley basin of Bolzano offers ideal conditions for the cultivation of red wine varieties. The steep terraces of Laitach, one of the classic St. Magdalen sites, face south and are founded on sandy loam soils over porphyry rock. Our red grape varieties Vernatsch, Lagrein, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Syrah thrive here.

Our South Tyrolean wines are grounded, strong in character, honest.

Good things take time

The number of months on the label indicates the period between the grape harvest and the earliest possible sale. Time is a significant factor for a natural wine development process: depending on the variety and its vinification, we allow the wines sufficient time to mature in the cellar and in the bottle. In principle, however, a minimum maturation period of 20 months applies to all wines.
